Clipping

From cosmetic to medical, there are many reasons for needing help with your horse’s coat. Clipping can be required for

• Managing winter coats for horses in work through the winter, and keeping them sleek during the summer. Sweat can dry much more quickly, skin stays healthier, and heavier exercise is easier on them.

• The shiny show ring look. I stay up to date and follow FEI regulations in terms of whiskers and showpark on-site allowances.

• Easing discomfort for horses dealing with Cushings disease

• Any medical or personal reason!

My experience includes working with show horses, fist-timers and young ones, nervous-nellies and steady-eddies, horses with skin conditions/sensitivities, and horses/ponies of all sizes. Styles include the following, and any combination of:

• Blanket/Trace/Quarter

• Full

• Specific area clip (mainly medical reasons)

• Can include simple hindquarter designs

The comfort of your horse is paramount. The safety of the horse, any handler, myself, and the equipment is important, and I will not push a horse past what they are comfortable with. I am patient and gentle, and emphasize creating a positive experience around clipping for all involved.
